It is with great sadness we must announce the cancellation of ALL activities for the Fall season of the DYFL (both cheerleading and football). With recent announcements from Governor Pritzkers office, the IDPH, IHSA and IESA ALL guidelines are clear that the activities and sports that the DYFL sponsors are not appropriate at this time. We understand that some sports organizations may choose to blatantly disregard these guidelines. We however feel compelled to support these guidelines in hopes to slow the upward trend so we can get back to more normalized activities…. Especially for the kids!! You may have heard discussions of some sports moving to different seasons…. At this point the DYFL is not entertaining any discussions like that until much closer to the end of the year.
Families that did pay in advance will be refunded. We expect these to be processed in the next 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately there may be some service fees from the original transitions that are out of our control although the primary amount will be refunded in total. These funds will be dispersed back to the account they were posted from.
We do recognize that some families were issued raffle tickets. We are working through the multiple layers of how to resolve that issue and will follow-up soon with an answer.
Thank you for supporting your children in these unprecedented times and good luck with the upcoming school year!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have regarding this decision or anything else at this time.
